Sommaire: One of the all-time greats in CPU history. I haven't upgraded from my Sandy Bridge i5 2500k because this thing is not far behind the newest chips and just so overclockable. I mean 4.5ghz prime95 all day with minimal overvolting and 5ghz attainable while still in the safe voltage range.
Avantages: Still among the fastest gaming CPU's. HIGHLY oveclockable (OC's better than newer chips in my experience) As an older part may be easier to find used.
Contre: None at all, unless you count its new availability.
Sommaire: The box is adorable, so I kept it, and now store garlic in it. Yes, really. It confuses my roommates, along with anyone else who happens to look in the pantry.
Avantages: I have this in a rig which I use for both gaming and fractal rendering. It does great with both. It was reasonably priced, too. I think I got it on sale, which was probably a bonus at the time.
Sommaire: There are faster CPUs out now, but in 2011 this was a great purchase and still holds its own with games.
Avantages: Hasn't let me down yet. Gaming, everything...still competitive...great investment at the time when I got it in 2011. I've brought this chip over into my new mini ITX build. Still running great, idles around 37.
